Everyone should know that one minute is composed of sixty seconds. But lately one of the IDT companies declared that a lot of companies, that sell calling cards, give just 36 seconds instead of 60. In 2007 IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) iniciated a suit against several corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards alleging false advertisement and misleading commerce operations.

In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have received a complete settlement of the suit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC versus Total Call. Before that IDT/UTA started legal procedure against the group of defendants for three times. Today there is a roll of another accused includes about six companies and some of them are: Epana Networks Inc., Dollar Phone Corp., etc.. That pending action is being on approval in the federal tribunal in Newark, New Jersey. Lately, one of softswitch developers released his new conditions of paying the phone services. That new system allows every cutomer to determine the size of the minute that suits him the best, and the system would keep back minutes form the balance and the customer will have got an ability to check precisely how many units were deducted and how many remain. Moreover, they mentioned that it is rule on every phone card systems. I didn't realize that it was true. But today when I found IDT communique, I realize that they are probably right.

If you can simply calculate, that you should estimate how many minutes you will have on the account buying an international phone card. The proportion is 100 minutes by only $1! The corporations, that have been involved into this story, promised to return all the units to their consumers as soon as possible. IDT/UTA believes that till all accused have agreed to follow to this rule, it is beneficial for the continued prosecution of this lawsuit to have a streamlined process with fewer defendants. To establish the level of paying field all the corporations, which provide the telecommunication facilities should promote good practices and rules. They will try to design the mathods for checking the ability of prepaid phone cards to deliver the quantity of minutes prescribed for private destinations. The participants consented to provide the effective tracing system open for everyone that wants to control the operations.
