Even the beginner looking to sell stuff on the Internet can't help but notice the many offers for ?E-books?, or Infoproducts that abound. And the reason there are so many, some free, some with a price, is because the demand for knowledge is HUGE! No matter in what area you are interested in there is a market ready and eager to snap up what you have to offer.
Information is without doubt the hottest product on the market! And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to produce. Once you've got your e-book, it is delivered by customers downloading it from the Internet. It costs peanut to produce in Word, say, and virtually nothing to deliver. The profit margin is big!
Secret #1
But, and here's the first secret to selling your Infoproduct, it must provide the answer to the buyers question; it must solve a problem; it must meet a need. It is absolutely essential that the customer can see how they will benefit from buying your e-book. Plus, if it will make them money or save them money, then your customers will love you for it.
Secret #2
Your Infoproduct must, in some way, be unique. It must be different to all the others dealing with the same subject. So how do you do that?
The first way is to write it yourself, from your own experiences or from your own interests. Each one of us is an individual, with an individual life, background and work experience. We all like different things, different hobbies and interests. The mixture of all these elements means that you can come up with something that is totally unique to you!
Now this is not as difficult as it sounds. Answer this question: For any subject that you are interested in, can you chat to a friend about it? Yes, of course you can, because it fires your imagination, and you most likely have an emotional response to any subject you really like or are good at, etc.
So just sit down with a pen and paper and pretend you are writing to a friend. Pick someone you know and imagine them reading your letter. Pretend they know nothing about the subject and just write, explaining everything in as logical an order as you can. You can always go back and change it later. Remember your friend will not actually read your letter, but many hundreds, if not thousands of people you've never heard of will.
Secret #3
OK, so you're saying ?I could never write my own e-book!? Well, maybe you could, maybe you couldn't. Everyone does have a book inside them, trust me, even if just a little one! But if you are just setting out then maybe you have doubts in this area. So here is Secret #3:
Obtain a ready written e-book and re-write it to make it your own!
There is something called Private Label Rights, which to explain it simply, means you can get the rights to publish a ready written e-book and sell it for whatever price you think is right. Make sure the books are Private Label and no Public Label. Private label means the number of people who have access to them is restricted which makes sure the market isn't flooded with the same book, whereas Public Label means they are available to anyone, and in general they are not as good in quality.
Private Label e-books are usually obtained through a Private Label Membership site. For the nominal monthly membership fee you get access to a wealth of not only e-books, but often articles as well. I use InfoGoRound.com as my main source of e-books.
Make sure you read the small print as to what you are allowed to do or not do. My suggestion above was to change or re-write the PLR book. Make sure the book you like the look of gives you the right to do that.
Secret #4
You don't need a web site to sell information products! That's right, so long as you have access to the internet and an email account, you can do all your business without a web site.
What you do is become an affiliate for other people's products, advertise them, and collect the commission when you make a sale.
To get started go to ClickBank.com and sign up for an account. It's free. You will need to think up a name, preferably short. Mine is ?fortpub? short for Fortress Publishing. There are several other sites like ClickBank, but I will use them to explain how it's done.
Next go to the Marketplace section of ClickBank and search for a subject that interests you. There you will see a host of products you can choose from. Decide on one and click ?View Pitch Page?. This takes you to the sellers? sales page so you can decide if it really is the kind of product you want to promote. Then go back to ClickBank and click on ?Create Hoplink?. ClickBank will generate the URL which will contain your account name and which you can use to promote the product.
