The Traveling Wilburys are not only one of my favourite groups because they made some very good music but also because the group consisted of some of my favourite artists. I started listening to The Traveling Wilburys when I was about 15 when my nanna got me a harmonica because I love the sound it makes and I was into Bob Dylan. The harmonica is one of the instruments I can actually play and I still have the harmonica my nanna gave me to this day and still play it occasionally.
The Traveling Wilburys were made up of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison and the collaboration in my eyes is one of the best there has or will ever be. All the members of The Traveling Wilburys have excelled in their own solo careers, which I'll get into in future posts.
During the time The Traveling Wilburys were together (which was only a short time) they only made 2 studio albums which were The Traveling Wilburys Vol.1 and Vol.3. Vol.2 and Vol.4 were also released but were compilation albums. Vol.2 contained demo's and extended versions of songs songs from Vol.1 and Vol.4 was outtakes from Vol.3. There was also a new compilation album released in 2007 titled The Traveling Wilburys Collection.
The Traveling Wilburys kinda formed by accident when Roy, George and Jeff met at Bob Dylan's studio to help record a B-Side for the release of George Harrison's track This Is Love. The reason Tom Petty was involved at all was because George had left his guitar at Tom's House.
The Traveling Wilburys "family" consisted of Lucky Wilbury (Bob Dylan), Nelson Wilbury (George Harrison), Lefty Wilbury (Roy Orbison), Otis Wilbury (Jeff Lynne) and Charlie T. Jr. (Tom Petty). They enjoyed working together so much that they decided to make an album together (Vol.1) which was in 1988 and was recorded in only 10 days, just before Bob Dylan was due to tour.
When Roy Orbison died in 1988 this prevented an obvious The Traveling Wilburys reunion and when Vol.3 was released The Traveling Wilburys took new names in honor of Roy, meaning that they can never be the original family again. The new "family" names were: Boo Wilbury (Bob Dylan), Spike Wilbury (George Harrison), Clayton Wilbury (Jeff Lynne) and Muddy Wilbury (Tom Petty).
Some of The Traveling Wilburys most popular songs are Handle With Care, The Wilbury Twist, Nobody's Child, End Of The Line and Dirty World.

Top 10 Songs Of
1) The Big Inner Child. In essence your wedding favors are toys! Yoyos, kazoos, funny dancing dolls, all are popular choices for you, particularly if you can get them personalized! You lavish attention on the children's tables at the reception. You even asked to have the reception at the local play center.
2) The Missing Windsor. You like to think that you hail from royalty, by way of some tenuous ancestral link. You will no doubt lavish expensive gifts on your guests, such as silver photo frames, clocks or some other pricey keepsake.
3) The Ultra-Traditionalist. For you there is no other wedding favor than five Jordanian almonds in a pretty tulle wrap. However, you may show your wildside & give chocolate truffles instead or foil covered hearts in a little box. Your choice of wedding colors will be pure white & you will of course wear a veil & tiara. The ultra-traditionalist will probably worship Princess Diana & model themselves on Charlotte from Sex & the City!
4) The Romantic. Your wedding favors are something of a statement. They will probably be something ever lasting such as flower bulbs or small trees. You prefer the idea of small trees as the fact that they will one day grown into mighty oaks appeals to your sensibilities! You imagine your guests bringing out your favor every year on your anniversary & smiling warmly to themselves as they remember the romance & beauty of your wedding day!
5) The Coordinator. The make-up of your wedding favors is of no real importance to you as long as they are in keeping with your theme. A look around your home will show that everything co-ordinates or matches in some way ? your bed linen & curtains, your throws & lampshades. In fact, you even dress your finance to match your outfit when you go out for the night! A variation of the Coordinator is the Personalizer. For them the style of the favor is also of no consequence as long as it can be personalized. From matchbooks to grains of sand, all are acceptable, as long as they have their name on them!
6) The Sweet Tooth. You have probably not touched anything sweet or chocolate-like for months, in a bid to fit into that size 4 dress that you just had to have. Now the sugar cravings are kicking in & your wedding is becoming something of a sweet fest with a dessert bar, candy bar & chocolate fountain. Even the wedding cake is Death By Chocolate! So your wedding favors have to be of the sweet variety. Just to keep with the theme, of course!
7) The "Queen For a Day." Your wedding favors will celebrate you in all your gory details. You will probably choose photo frames & insert pictures of yourself & your fianc? in to them or you will choose things that will help to make you look great in the wedding photos. Bubbles, petals & sparklers are all top choices. You have to be the centre of attention & everything has to be ?fabulous?!
8) The Eco Warrior. You are on a crusade! Your wedding favors have to be eco-friendly, chemical free, devoid of any animal cruelty & fairly traded ? meaning someone somewhere was paid slightly more than usual to make them for you Oh & they can't have traveled more than fifty miles to get to you, probably delivered by someone on a push bike (to cut down on carbon emissions). Your wedding favors will probably be plantable, biodegradable & recyclable. Or you may just save yourself the hassle & donate to charity instead!
9) The Innovator. You're always looking for something new, that no-one else has heard of or tried before. You are constantly looking for the next big thing & are too hip for Starbucks. You wedding menu is a fusion of culinary tastes from around the world & you have got a musician you found in some smoky back street jazz bar, who you are certain is on his way to stardom. You're favors will be different but not quirky, such as some Far East delicacy wrapped in silk embroidered papers.
10) The Nostalgic. Jane Austen is your heroin & you will have seen every TV version imaginable. Your wedding favors will be different & extra special. You want to appear as though you have given extra thought to them (which you probably have) & show that you have spent as much time on them as you did choosing your wedding shoes. You want your guests to be totally focused on you all the time; they will switch off their cell phones, have impeccably behaved kids & never talk when you do. The wedding readings will be a trip down memory lane to your childhood & the invitations will be written by hand in a fancy script, which took you years to perfect! Oh & your wedding photos will probably be in sepia & taken with an old fashioned camera for authenticity.
