Hand carved olive wood salad bowls, kitchen articles, vases, lamps, bracelets are sold here. This hard and durable wood needs only an occasional slight rubbing with oil to bring out the richness of its patterns.
A must to see is the former house and gardens of one of Hammamet's famous residents Georges Sebastian. Between 1932 and 1962 the Sebastian's house welcomed the most famous intellectuals, the most talented creators, and some of the most important personalities of this century including Sir Winston Churchill and Field Marshall Rommel
