External Hard Drive Safe
Guy Morris
While traveling many are in danger in the road even though a number of people are trying their hardest to avoid it entirely. No one knows for certain when an accident is likely to happen. The continuous rise in the number of people falling victims to road accidents while traveling portray a sad reality.
Statistics show that in 2003 alone 42, 643 people were killed and about 2.9 million were injured in the over 6 million car accidents that have been reported taken place in the United States alone. Considering the fact that a full-fledged campaign is being held about avoiding road accidents and driving safely, the figures show a gloomy reality indeed.
Hence the most important question arising out of this is with whom does the problem lie? Is it the victim of the accidents fate, the fault of the governments, the car manufacturer or the driver? The answer being that no one can shove the blame on a particular persons shoulder. Avoiding accidents and is the only course of action people can actually take.
But accidents do happen and when they do, dealing with it in a properly manner is the only way to go about it. So how do you handle them in a proper and objective manner? Here are a few hints.
1. In an accident panicking is the number one danger.
In most cases the reason behind people not making it through an accident is they let panic get the better of them. Because when people starts to panic their minds ceases to analyze their situation clearly and hence can't find a logical solution out of the problem they find themselves in. So the best and the most important thing to do in an accident is to stay calm and do some objective thinking to get out of the dilemma. It saves lives to be calm and not panic. 2. In one's mobile phone keeping Emergency numbers is often a lifesaver.
Keeping up with our presumed safe daily lives we often don't realize that when emergency situations arise it saves lives to have emergency numbers in our mobile phones. Its importance can be felt more when one's traveling or simply away from home. According to the surveys performed the victims who get attended by the health experts immediately after the accident are the ones who survive in most cases. This validates the point that victims of accidents should get medical attention as quickly as possible after the event.
3. The number one remedy is still Prevention.
The victims being within the age bracket of 1 to 37, one of the top most causes of death today is car accident. So the young are generally the drivers prone to accidents. Drunk driving, not wearing seatbelts, reckless driving and speeding are usually the causes behind accidents by the young.
Hence while you are traveling it's wise to follow the rules and regulations of traffic to prevent tragedies like road accidents from happening. Follow the proverbial phrase ‘an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure' to a T.
