1) Stop Reasoning - People constantly reason with them selves about why they behave in the way they do. We do ask ourselves over and over if we are in the right relationship, and we feel better when we arrive at conclusions to why the person is the right one for us. When we stop reasoning with ourselves in such a way, which can well happen over a period of stagnation, we fail to see the light of holding on to the relationship.

This being the case, the relationship can take an ugly turn when an argument erupts for the smallest of reasons. When we are in such a way disconnected with our own selves and with our partners, we begin to assume that it was not love at all, rather just compassion of infatuation with the opposite sex.

2) Compromise - It is inevitable that you will sometimes have arguments with other people, because you are bound to disagree with their ideas at some time or the other. When it is a larger group of people the bonds between them are harder to understand.

With couples, it is sad to see a relationship break up simply because people realized that there are in fact issues on which they do not see eye to eye. That is going to happen to any couple sooner or later. The answer lies in meeting half way, and reaching a compromise on issues that you do not agree upon. But do not be alarmed when you see people who do not appear to be very close to each other, remain in the relationship. Different people show their affection in different ways, and it doesn't have to be demonstrated for some to know that their partner feels love for them.

3) Forgive and Forget - Love often turns to hate when the person we loves hurts us in some way. When this happens, we begin to be indifferent to your partner, which only causes further pain. The better bet would be to forgive and to move on hand in hand with your partner.

Let us face the fact that if you do break up a relationship over something that happened in the past, you are only going to hurt yourself even more than what you already feel. We sometimes break up relationships just to punish the other, but forget that we would ourselves feel the pain as well! So, it is better to forgive and forget.

4) Spend Time - Make sure you spend quality time with your partner so that you never feel detached. Have a few laughs a day, and all will be well.
