So here you are ready to start your work at home MLM business for the 10th time. Or was it the 100th time? It really doesn’t matter because each time you quit before it took off and you were left with several hundred or several thousand dollars lost as a result. So why did this happen? Well, there are myriad reasons but the real reason was you – ouch, that hurt didn’t it? No, I mean it. The real reason we quit before we saw profit in our MLM or any business is because we lost steam, lost focus and gave up plain and simple.

So, if you want to make try #101 worth it then the first thing you need to do is decide to execute today, tomorrow and next month. You have to make the decision NOW that you WILL go on despite set backs. You also have to make a plan to succeed. The problem you faced in the past was that you started based on your feelings and not on business facts. Someone introduced you to a website or you got tired of your real job and started searching for an opportunity. Either way you didn’t plan on working your business you were emotionally led into your business. And guess what, emotions ebb and flow at the turn of a dime. So, if you truly want your business to succeed this time you have to plan for its success.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way it’s time to make your plan. The first thing you need to start with is your budget. How much money are you looking to spend each month? Remember this should be disposable income and not money you use to pay the rent. Once you’ve created your budget you can create your plan around that budget. The first thing you need to do is get a place of your own and that means either a website or a blog. The easiest is getting a blog through www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.org which are both free. Word Press is the industry leader and better for the long term. This page needs to establish you as a leader in the industry. In the case of a blog you must write content and post regularly.

You also need to coordinate your blog site or an additional website with a capture form. What the capture form will do is allow people who are interested in your topic the ability to join your mailing list. And, over time the “fortune is in the list" and more importantly the follow up to the list. If you can capture hundreds or thousands of hot prospects then the world is your oyster. Noticed I didn’t say anything about a MLM business or product at this point. The reason being is that both of those are useless without people to buy them. So build a list first, select a product second and keep finding more prospects each and every day to fill your funnel. The great thing about this process is the list you create is YOUR list and not "MLM Company X’s" list. Therefore when or if you walk away the list goes with you.

As you create your business and see your list grow you will get excited. Now is the time to monetize that list and create a little extra money along the way. Either you can create a product yourself or choose someone else’s product that is somewhere between $20 - $50. According to Mike Dilliard people like to purchase information more than they like to “do". So, use that to your advantage to create more leads for free. So now our MLM lead formula looks like this: 1. Find leads 2. Sell them a low cost product 3. provide free information in the form of e-mails or blog posts or both.

So flash forward six months into it and you are generating steady leads every day (for free mind you) and now have hot customers in our pipeline. Now you can move into your final portion of the MLM Lead Formula and sell your real opportunity or MLM business which will provide you with residual income forever.

That’s the plan: monetize leads, advertise for more leads, monetize leads, advertise for more leads, give them good information and finally introduce them to your real opportunity. It sounds simple and on one hand it is. But, it’s life that gets in the way sometimes and that is something we each can control if we are disciplined enough to do so.
