Koehler Method Dog Training
Johnjames
The training of dog begins during the period in its life when its socialization skills are being developed. If you train a dog too early, it will not learn anything because it hasn't developed to the extent that it can learn. Training your dog when it has already developed its own undesirable characteristics may prove to be an extremely difficult task.
The first eight weeks of a puppy's life is crucial because they are its formative years. Puppies that are cuddled and petted during the first eight weeks of their lives grow up psychologically and emotionally fine. Dogs that are problematic in nature most likely never had all the physical contact the needed in their early developmental stages.
To effectively train your dog, you need to know what motivates it. Each dog has a particular reason for doing something and therein lays its language. It is vital that you understand your dog's language if you are to communicate with its effectively.
There are a variety of dog training tools in the market that can make your dog training sessions easier. An example of a dog training tool is the clicker. The clicker is a plastic box with a metal tongue that clicks when it is depressed and is used to effectively train dogs. Some dogs respond to a clicker command more than others because of their nature.
The extent to which you are successful as a dog handler depends on your ability to get your dog to understand you and your commands. More often than not, commands that dogs don't respond to are those that are not clear. If you want your dog to respond favorably to your commands, try not to get your wires crossed.
Circus dogs are those that are trained specially for the purpose of entertainment. Circus dogs are trained to do a lot of amazing things such as jump hoops or roll balls. You can teach your own dog a trick or two to catch fun and entertain your friends.
Dog training involves the issuance of commands to a dog in a particular context. Dog training entails the familiarization of both dog and owner to each other. Basically, dogs are creatures of habit and can easily pick up what you teach them.
Don't spoil your dog by petting it too much. Dogs like kids need a firm hand occasionally to live up to your expectations. A lax attitude in training your dog will leave you with a dog that chooses to do what it pleases.
