Most people who are suffering from a yeast infection might not even know it, or might think they have another problem altogether because the signs and symptoms are similar. Sometimes yeast infection signs are not as obvious as we may think. Whatever the case the most important first step, is to get yourself to your physician so they can determine what's wrong. If you are sure you have a yeast infection and want to get over the counter medication
When you get a yeast infection it is an indication that one of these systems has gone haywire and yeast has taken over in its place.
We get yeast infections from a number of different sources but I have found that I get them after taking antibiotics for upper respiratory infections such as bronchitis or other. Somehow the antibiotics go to work and kill all of the naturally occurring good bacteria in my body along with the bad bacteria leaving my system open to yeast infections.
Yeast is a naturally occurring bacteria-like spore and really is only a problem when it is out of balance. But when it is out of balance it can make a person crazy with itching and burning and general overall miserableness.
The symptoms of a yeast infection vary depending on where the infection occurs, but the common signs are; chronic itching, redness / inflammation, pain, blisters, spots, unusual discharges, odor, pain when urinating, pain / difficulty having sex, etc. But there are some unusual symptoms that you would not expect to be associated with a yeast infection. Some of these are; headaches, migraine, acne, skin lesions, chronic rash, depression, mood swings, memory loss, fatigue, irritability, aching / swelling joints, etc.
A normal remedy for a yeast infection would be a cream to apply locally to the infection, but, you could get suppositories, tablets, and even injections in chronic cases. These remedies have one thing in common; they are all drug-based. These work well enough for many people but, as said previously, not for all. There are many people who, no matter how hard they have tried with these remedies
The one day treatments are for those who want their symptoms to be gone very quickly. This is good if they work. However, in some cases it does not and you must resort to either a 3-day treatment or a 7-day treatment. It is a personal choice as to which length of treatment you purchase. If the one day treatment doesn't work for you, you may want to try at least the 3-day treatment. It works longer and in most cases completely rids your body of the fungus.
Use the medication as the directions recommend. If you purchased a one- day treatment with additional cream for external use, use it just before going to bed at night. For three day treatments and seven day treatments, use them at night as well and only as directed by the package.
Once you have relieved yourself of the infection or fungus, you will want to remember the active ingredient that worked so the next time you get one, you can go directly to that type of medication and purchase it with some confidence that it will work.
