Pregnancy and child birth usually is followed by stretch marks. So, it is proven that one may get these stretch marks right after child birth. Some of them may also prescribe a combination of Tretinoin with certain other creams. A number of research works has been conducted that does prove that using 0.1 percent of this cream may help reduce stretch marks to a much greater extent. The length of these marks may also reduce up to 14 percent and the width may also reduce to certain extent when using this cream. In certain cases, there has also been a decrease in 20 percent. So, this cream is certainly effective in most of the cases.

But, there may be no good information available of it when speaking of permanent cure. Like in cases of breast feeding, this medication may also get excreted in breast milk, but there certainly are no evidences of it. And if it does get excreted, then it may also be having certain side effects. But, these side effects are not just known. So, there are also chances that it might have some effect on the health of the baby. So this cream should definitely be avoided at the time of nursing a baby.

Laser therapy may be very effective. Different types of lasers may be very much effective on different types of stretch marks. Much of it would also depend on the color of these stretch marks. One type would simply reduce the color and the other type would simply stimulate the pigment cells that may have already faded. These laser treatments can always help to stimulate the production of pigment cells thus helping with the production of collagen in our skin and at the same time restore the skin's elasticity.

Stretch marks would reduce the elasticity so retaining elasticity of the skin would help getting rid of these stretch marks permanently.
