Wedding Etiquette Bridal Shower
Dalvin Rumsey
The engagement and the wedding are two of the most important events in a persons life. They are pretty stressful events, as you must prepare all the necessary things in order for the guests to have a wonderful time. You must keep up with the latest trends in organizing everything. There is no rule regarding etiquette that must absolutely be followed and no one to know them all!
The most important thing you must keep in mind is the fact that etiquette is above all about treating people with courtesy and making them feel comfortable. When an etiquette question occurs, you must consider the feelings of those who will be affected.
The family etiquette is one of the five most common wedding etiquette dilemmas. If the parents bride and groom have not met before the engagement, tradition says that the groom's family calls and introduces themselves to the bride's family. A meeting is arranged. If the groom's parents do not make the first introduction, then the bride's parents should. Nowadays, who makes the first call is irrelevant; all that really matters is that the parents meet. If meeting face to face is impossible, a letter or phone call will be more than enough!
There are many cases when the groom's parents feel left out of the planning process. To avoid this, invite your future in-laws into the initial dialogue. You should immediately let them know about your ideas regarding location, date, size and style of the wedding.
The invitation etiquette is another dilemma when speaking about weddings. So, if an invited guest is married, engaged or living with a significant other, that partner must be included in the invitation. If you are inviting a single guest with a date, try to find out the name of your friend's intended date and include that person's name on the invitation.
The gift giving etiquette states that the most important rule of all is to always feel privileged and not entitled to receive a gift. If you do this, you will never make any mistakes. So, it would be best not to mention the gifts on the invitations. Not to mention asking for cash gifts! This is the most impolite thing of all. Do not use any gifts until after a wedding and most of all, have fun! It is your wedding you are attending, after all! So smile!
