Handle with Care

To keep your diamond's luster, you can soak it in a cleaner that has an ammonia base. Window cleaner is the perfect solution to keep your diamond sparkling. Let your diamond soak overnight a few times a week in the solution. In the morning, remove it and run it under cool water using your diamond cleaning, soft bristle toothbrush to get rid of any lingering dirt. The back of the diamond is where most of the dirt collects, so give that area special care.

If you prefer, you can use a special jewelry cleaning solution made by any reputable company. It is always wise to review the directions before you begin cleaning your diamond. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions in order for your diamond to look its best.
Keep Your Diamond Jewelry away from Harmful Solutions
Chlorine is an abrasive solution as well as other household cleaners and should never be used on your diamond jewelry. Though you may think that toothpaste is a mild solution, it too can cause damage to your diamond jewelry and should also be avoided. They can cause the metal holding your diamond to erode or may loosen the prongs that hold your diamond. This may cause your diamond to come loose. You don't want to take a chance on losing the diamond from its setting, so avoid any solutions for which you are unsure.
