One of the executive producers of Smallville, Steve DeKnight, has hinted on some tidbits on the upcoming Smallville episodes, which leaves devoted viewers wondering and even more intrigued. DeKnight, a native of Milleville, New Jersey, is a television writer, producer and director. He is popularly known for working on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Smallville.

Smallville, now in its fifth season, follows the adventures of the young Clark Kent, played by Tom Welling, before his Superman days. The action-drama plot features his muddle with his teenage days while developing his superpowers and exploring his identity, as well as his destiny.

With five episodes remaining, more and more Smallville aficionados are getting anxious on how Smallville will culminate its season five. As much as possible, Smallville would like to give its viewers the element of surprise.

And given that, DeKnight implied that the pregnancy of Lana Lang, played by actress Kristen Kreuk, would budge in a different direction. Of course, the never-ending love triangle between Clark, Lana and Lex, played by Michael Rosenbaum, would still be present, even though many Smallville fans may deem this as something mind-numbingly typical. In addition, Lois will most likely take the center stage in the coming episodes. Lex and his top-secret project will also be exposed. Furthermore, a baffling character from Clark's past surfaces which would add complications to the finale.

Another tip-off is the departure of another cast member from the popular sci-fi series. Obviously, the said cast member is not Tom Welling, being the lead character of the show. Sorry to say, it is not Michael Rosenbaum, since he already made his exit official a month ago. Fans will just have to wait and see.

While specific details are definitely left undisclosed, DeKnight promises viewers with a Smallville finale that will be full of action and suspense.
