What The Hell Is Viral Marketing???
Jon Baptitse
I have always had problems getting hits and traffic to my
sites, always, it is one of the biggest pains in my ass, the
constant battle for traffic and paying customers.
I really wouldn't mind the daily battles getting traffic to
my sites if I was making money from them but apart from a
few "sympathy" sales none of my sites were what you would
call profitable, now if I was selling crap that would not be
a problem but I deal in high quality information products
that take a lot of research and time, so the battle for
traffic is really a bit of a pet hate of mine, I need new and
EFFECTIVE ways to get my hits and paying customer rates up.
And as cheaply as possible too, both in money and time terms.
I have spent weeks searching for a boost to my traffic
numbers, when I came across an article about a form of
traffic generation called "viral marketing"
The methods it described seemed very interesting and useful
to me, I particularly liked these facts.
1)It was FREE
2)The only real cost was my time
3)Even my time cost was low, when you consider the returns.
4)Once set up it just kept going all by itself.
5)If done correctly the actual exposure for my marketing
campaign would reach every corner of the internet.
6)Again, it is FREE.
FREE MARKETING, the golden egg every marketer wants, only in
this case viral marketing is a FREE resource, I have a huge
collection of e-books on every subject and it wasn't until I
read them and realised that every page of every e-book has a
hidden advertisement on every page, the links at either the
bottom or top or both of every page, FREE ADS, obviously when
you read the e book you see the ads and if they interest you
then you will click on them and go to that site, easy and so
good. This form of marketing can only bring you the online
entrepreneur more money to your pocket, so simple but truly
brilliant.
And yes like all business dealings there is always a
cost, only this time it was only costing me a couple of hours
of typing at my keyboard, nothing else, so no real loss there
then.
In any business there is a cost to everything, only with
viral marketing your only cost really is your time, it takes
time to set the campaign in motion and time to set
everything up before you get a return on your investment, but
you have to invest yourself and your time into it to reap
the rewards.
My total time cost for my campaign was about 6 hours, not too
bad really, I spend longer just surfing daily.
Once the campaign was up and running I have found that
minute for minute my returns have come back to me at a rate
of about 10 to 1,basically for every minute invested I have
had back about 10 minutes of hits and traffic to my
sites, truly good returns, I couldn't get that kind of return
using any other traffic methods, not even PPC gives me the
returns I am now getting.
Longevity, ask yourself this how long do you think most ad
campaigns last on the net???
The figures I have suggest about 12 hours per campaign in
real terms, not long is it???
That is 12 hours in actual clicked on exposure, and most
campaigns cost thousands to run, so your return on investment
is crap.
Again,Longevity, the length of your exposure is entirely dependant
on the nature of your campaign vehicle, that is what the hell
you are using to expose your stuff to your customers with.
With viral marketing your exposure is constantly growing and
expanding net wide and the return on your time investment is
far more in proportion to the effort you expended starting
it up, so again return on investment is very good for very
little financial costs.
Net exposure, the goal of every online marketer is to reach
every pc connected to the net, thus ensuring maximum viewings
if their product selection to the entire online world, nice
dream but it simply will not happen using
"traditional" marketing methods online.
Viral marketing differs though because of it's nature viral
marketing has a presence throughout the net, and every time
someone reads an e-book and passes it on or someone posts an
article about any subject, like gossip that spreads around a
small town like wildfire, viral marketing does the same, which
makes it quite the most perfect from of ad campaign there
is, the minute you get one person talking about your campaign
or product then you have cracked it and your sales will
grow.
Back to the first point I made, the whole basis of viral
marketing is that it is FREE.
Free, simple and easy to do, but very very profitable if done
right.
Your choice which is the most preferred to you, hugely
expensive ad campaigns which only reach a tiny percentage of
net users or a very quiet, simple and FREE campaign which
will reach hundreds of thousands if not millions of
potential customers at NO COST to you other than time, thus
maximising your bottom line.
I know what one I prefer and still use.
Very simply, I have found viral marketing to be a god send to
my business, boosting my turnover and profit margins through
the roof, so simple it should be banned, I have seen my
traffic go from 100 hits a week to over 5000 a day, you
simply do not get any better proof than that, viral marketing
works and works incredibly well, research states that only
the top 1% of all online entrepreneurs use this method to
take their income into the multi million dollar bracket
annually, hey I really want a piece of that action for
myself, don't you?
Well there you go then my views on viral marketing, I know it
works and works well.
Don't believe me then prove I am wrong, bet you can't.
Honestly though try this and see what results you get
