The Prelaunch Of Zrii
Larry Christopher
Zrii was started by Bill Farley, a long-time entrepreneur and friend of Chopra's. Farley has been the owner of many successful companies, including Fruit of the Loom and Anaheim Citrus Products. He is also a partner in the Chicago White Sox baseball team.
Ayurvedic medicine is an intricate system of healing. Although its principles date back to antiquity in India, it has become a popular modern modality thanks in large measure to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Today, the best known exponent of Ayurveda is probably Deepak Chopra.
In Ayurvedic medicine, people are divided into three doshas or body types. Each dosha has certain dietary requirements, beneficial herbs and exercise and lifestyle prescriptions. The three doshas are called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. It has been pointed out that these roughly approximate the Western body types ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph.
An imbalance of doshas is a primary cause of illness. Everyone has elements of each dosha, although we usually have a dominant one. An imbalance means having not enough or too much of one or another dosha. If this is the case, herbs and dietary advice is given to restore balance. Doshas also have differing reactions to heat and cold, times of day and seasons.
The fruit of the Amalaki tree (Emblica Officinalis) is considered by Ayurvedic practitioners to be, among other things, an anti-inflammatory, digestive aid and overall metabolic enhancer. As far as qualities that can be measured by Western scientists, Amalaki has a high concentration of amino acids, trace minerals, anti-oxidants and Vitamin C.
Zrii, which does not officially launch until October, already has quite a bit of buzz around it. The network marketing industry is quite lucrative, but it tends to be rather insulated. Zrii, run by a successful mainstream businessman and endorsed by Chopra, seems to have an unusual momentum going for it.
