In order to achieve this, you need a good opt-in (squeeze) page. A squeeze page is a web page where visitors sign into your list. The better your squeeze page, the higher your opt-in percentages. Following, in reverse order, are the top 10 ways to substantially increase your opt-in numbers:
10) The first link in all of your articles, must point to your squeeze page.
9) Entice viewers to sign up. Offer them a free report, article, e-course, or ebook.
8) Make sure your opt-in box is visible when visitors first enter your site. Do not make them search for it.
7) Your opt-in box should have a place of prominence. Do not hide it on the side; proudly display it at the top or middle of the page!
6) Your opt-in box should stand out on the page. Don’t hide it among a jumble of other items.
5) There should never be any distractions on your squeeze page. No ads or links, just reasons to subscribe.
4) Most people are concerned about their privacy. Provide a privacy statement saying that you won’t rent, share, or sell their information. Place it right beneath the opt-in box.
3) Keep your opt-in box simple; by requesting more information, fewer people will sign in. Do you really need to know their date of birth? Just get the information you absolutely need (name & email).
2) Provide plenty of reasons why they need to opt-in now. All selling on the page should give viewers good reasons to sign-in now!
The number 1 way to substantially increase your opt-in numbers is to add a sign-in box or pop-up on EVERY PAGE of your website. When I made this change, my conversion rate almost doubled!
