Treatment For Chicken Pox
Justin Kenedy
The blisters and crusts are infectious and itchy, and scratching them can lead to infection and scarring. Once the scabs are gone, the individual is no longer infectious. Chickenpox usually runs its course in two weeks.
Some home remedies for treating chicken pox:
1.Chicken Pox home remedy treatment can be achieved by using Oatmeal. A bath of oatmeal is considered one of the best natural remedies for relieving the itching sensation caused by chicken pox. The bath can be prepared by cooking two cups of oatmeal in two liters of water for fifteen minutes. Put the mixture into a cloth bag and tie a string tightly around the top of the bag. Allow the bag to float around a tub of warm water. Swish the bag around the water until it becomes turbid. Be careful to make sure the bag does not tear. Now, allow your child to play around in the water, letting the water splash over all the scalds. Leave the oatmeal pouch inside the tub.
2.A treatment for chicken pox is not always necessary. If the patient is isolated in a cold room this infection may disappear within a week. Warm places can cause an even harder to take itchiness. If the infection develops into a more serious one treatment is highly recommended. Doctors are able to prescribe it, and they usually prescribe acyclovir, the specific treatment for this kind of infection.
3.Part of the treatment for chicken pox is giving the patient bath every 3 to 4 hours to relieve the itching, adding some dry oat meal to the water. For the fever it is recommended to use acetaminophen not being indicated for patients under 20. Best thing to do would be to follow the doctors advice.
4.Asking your child not to scratch their itch will probably fall on deaf ears, however, it is worth trying to distract them as best you can. Cut their fingernails very short and make sure that their hands and fingernails are kept clean.
5.Chickenpox (varicella) vaccination is not included in the childhood immunization programme in New Zealand as the Ministry of Health does not recommend the routine use of this vaccine for normal, healthy children. However, the vaccine is available and licensed for use in New Zealand, but it is not subsidised, so the patient or parent must pay for it.
6.Chicken Pox home remedy treatment can be achieved by using Brown Vinegar. The use of brown vinegar is known to be one of the most important home remedies for treating chicken pox. Add half a cup of brown vinegar to a bath for best usage and results.
7.Wet compresses help to control the itching; use these often.
