Whether it's a cheating husband or a cheating wife there are signs that will give you a hint of what is going on. But you have to know where and how to look for them. It is amazing, though, that most people will be able to tell you what some of these signs are and yet they are unable to recognize them in their own marriages. It is possible that they do not think that cheating could happen in their relationship or they do not want to admit the possibility of it occurring to themselves.

Although there are some signs that are the same for men and women, there are distinct differences in the signs that tell you that your husband is cheating on you than there are for a cheating wife. The telltale signs of infidelity in a male spouse include:

- Boredom with the family and things around the home. If your husband starts to spend more and more time away from home and does not take an interest in the same family events or in chores around the house, then this could be a sign that there is someone else in his life.

- A decrease in intimacy between the two of you. If you notice that your husband is no longer willing to share details of his day with you or if he seems disinterested in what you have to say, you should take this as a warning sign. This is especially true if you used to share everything with each other. It could mean that he has already discussed his day with someone else and that you are no more than an acquaintance from whom he is starting to distance himself. You do need to find out what is going on and so you should ask whether or not he feels this way. Another warning sign could be his lack of interest in doing anything with you that you used to enjoy doing together, such as going for a walk or watching a movie.

- Getting upset if you mention cheating. If you casually mention the fact that he may be cheating in a joking way and he gets really upset about it, you should also take this as a warning sign. The same thing applies if he gets upset when you speak of someone you know that is having an affair.

Although these same signs apply to a cheating wife, there are other signs that a husband could be on the lookout for if he suspects infidelity.

- Gifts that didn't come from you. Men like to give gifts to their women and the same is true if this woman is married or not. If you notice that your wife has new jewelry or new perfume that you didn't buy for her and she says she didn't buy, you have cause to ask a few questions about where these gifts came from.

- If your wife always wore the same kind of clothes and now is buying more stylish clothes, losing weight and wearing a new hairstyle, it is possible that all this is not for you. This is especially true if it seems to come out of the blue and she didn't mention anything to you about the changes she would like to make.
