When many see the word equestrian, There not sure at first what it means. Essentially what equestrians are, they are the lovers of horses, for the most part they are in love with all things that the horse represents. Whether it be the care or love of the horse, or the lover of horsing events. The meaning of this word, it has different meanings to different people respectively.
One way to enjoy equestrian activities is simply by going to horse races. We see in this that there are a lot of people that enjoy this type of horsing event. Whether it be the care and maintenance and love of the horse, these are all things of the word equestrian. Being a horse trainer or rider can also be interfaced into the word equestrian itself. In essence, you may not be a trainer or rider, but if you enjoy anything to do with horses then you are an equestrian. Horse racers and events are probably the most popular forms of entertainment that a lover of horses enjoys. This has been a past time for many a year and century's old way of settling the nerves for fun. Going to the track and seeing the horses run is a thing of grace and beauty. One of the first that come to mind is the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky. The events here have been attended for many years, There are also a lot of high rollers that attend these events. No doubt, There is a lot of money that would go through this type of horse racing event.
As a child I was brought up going to horse racing events, I learned at an early age how much fun and excitement can be had at these types of event. My parents even used to let me pick a horse to win, they would put my dollar or two on my horse of choice. This was great fun and I learned that one does not have to place a big bet to have fun. I even was lucky enough to pick the winner a few times, To the dismay of people around the track. These were at a time in life that a young person lives out there life and never forgets. As a 34 year old man, I remember these times like they were yesterday.
We learn that in our quest for Equestrian entertainments is just a short look in the phone book, or a ride in whats left of a beautiful grassy countryside. The horse still plays a big part in a lot of our lives. It's a feeling you can't buy in a store, its in all of us that love this unique and gentle beautiful animal.
