Ephedra or Ma huang has been around for over five hundred centuries now. It was discovered in the ancient China. Dubbed as the 'miracle fat burner' or 'wonder diet pill,' ephedra has been under the lime light for so long and has been a constant subject of perennial debates as to its safety for human consumption and use.

A few years ago ephedra was banned in the United States by the FDA. This, in my opinion, was not only a huge mistake but also extremely unfair. There are literally millions of people all over the world who believe ephedra it is the best discovery in the weight loss industry's history. It is like an answer to an obese or overweight person's prayer. The underlying reason for it getting banned was simply the fact that some people chose to misuse and thereafter abuse it. This is why I believe the banning was unfair and a huge mistake because, too much of any good thing can be bad. Moderation is but the key. Anyone with a reasonable amount of common sense knows that. Heck, eating too many of certain kinds of fruits and vegetables can be bad for you and cause nutritional imbalance. The same goes for certain over the counter medicines such as tylenol and aspirin. Certainly, the two drugs work wonders if you have a headache or some other type of pain but everyone knows that if you take more than the usually recommended dosage; chances are pretty good that you could possibly be in some serious danger or even a high chance of overdose.

I firmly believe and stand by my conviction that we should not be made to suffer for some people's wrong choices or actions. As long as we are educated with what the potential side effects and outcomes that would suffice. People should be given freedom of choice. We should be made free to make our own decisions. Just recently, Ephedra has been released back onto the market, just as long as its dosage is within a certain range regulated by law. While it is indeed possibly the most effective fat and calorie burner known to mankind, ephedra also has several other benefits. Your metabolism will increase dramatically which will help your body to process the foods you eat a lot more quickly and efficiently. It will cause your energy levels to soar like those of an active teenager. Eating is no longer your main focus because ephedra suppresses you appetite so you'll eat less naturally but still feel full. A few major benefits that are unknown by the average person are that ephedra relaxes the air passages in your lungs to help treat asthma and cough. It promotes perspiration to help with recovery from minor colds and promotes urination to help relieve edema.

On a hind sight, it's clear to see that the benefits of ephedra are absolutely astonishing and extremely beneficial. To those who think ephedra is evil,well think again. Ephedra was made evil by the people who misused and worst, abused it. Basically, ephedra is nature's gift to mankind with an end that man will be benefited and be blessed by it and not the other way around.
