I feel there is a more powerful secret that is not being mentioned by those that have succeeded online. Names you all recognize after just a few months of research for an online opportunity to build an income. These people did not just stumble upon their success overnight did they? Well, maybe a few of them did or that is what they want you to believe anyway. I know for me it has been an “on again off again” adventure.

How about you? You have a web site and you are collecting your visitors name and email addresses right? If so, how long did it take you before you figured out how to get traffic to your site? How much longer after that did you figure out how to get the visitor to leave their name and email address?

When did you figure out that if you did a joint venture with another online marketer that you could build your list quicker and with a more responsive list member? How did you learn about the effectiveness of joint ventures? How long did it take to make your first joint venture?

How many dollars did you invest to learn this or that so that you could easily become successful overnight just by following the guidelines expressed in the product? Did you become successful overnight? Within six months? A year? Still trying?

Another secret that some are preaching is that in order to succeed you must first “take action” on what you have learned. They will go on to say that less than 5% of the readers of their e-book or participants in their program will ever succeed only because they do not take the action on what they have been presented.

Taking action often requires knowledge of an ability you do not presently have. How many times have you tried to install a script on your web server only to have it not work? How long has it taken to figure out how to make the auto responder provided by your hosting service to work?

How long has it taken you to get the Pay Pal button to work the way you have been told to? To take a payment for your product and then provided that product in a secure manner? Preventing the customer from discovering where your product is located on your server and stealing it from you?

Are you aware of the one most important thing you must do to ensure a bit of security on your web sites host server? How long did it take you to learn? Just in case you are not aware of it yet, YOU MUST include an index.htm or index.html file in ALL DIRECTORIES on your web server! Otherwise a visitor who stumbles across one of those directories, has full access to your hosting account and can find all your files and download them. Everything becomes available to them.

In the second paragraph above, I mentioned names. The names of people you will most certainly come across many times while surfing the Internet. Why do you think these people are mentioned so frequently? Why do you find their web sites and products discussed so many times? It is because they have achieved success! They are known to produce an income for their affiliates. These individuals have respect of, and for other successful online marketers. These individuals are leaders in what they do.

There is one very common thing that all these successful people have in their organizations and at their web sites. Can you tell me what it is?

Before I tell you, let me say that in the past year I have spent very few dollars on products from these successful “gurus”. More surprising is that I now own resale rights to a lot of those products. Do you know my secret yet?

Why buy the product until you know more about the individual presenting the product to you for purchase? Sign up for their newsletter and determine for yourself if they know what they are talking about or just providing what someone else knows about.

Those people acknowledged all around the Internet as being an expert all have a newsletter you can sign up for. They all offer a free package you can receive just by providing your name and email address at their web site. Many will provide their products after a few months to those on their mailing lists as a thank you for staying with them for a period of time. I have been on some list my entire five years and those loyalty gifts can be quite valuable. AND what better way how to learn to be successful than from those that are.

That's my secret. Now you know mine, what is yours? I would like to know. A person can never have enough information. It is what you do with the information that is important.
