A print flyer design is very easy to think up. You don't have to be a professional graphic artist, and you don't need to know a lot about flyer printing to make them. All you need to do is to stick to a few basic and very simple to understand guidelines, and you'll be on your way to quick and effective flyer printing. To make it easy for you, here is our quick and dirty guide to flyer design.
Use an attractive keyword:
Flyers are about big and simple words. People need to know what the flyers are about in an instant. For example, if it is about a store sale, people usually print a big ?Sale!? word on their flyers to catch attention instantly. If you are selling low priced things like clothes or accessories, it is best to print things like ?Cheap Accessories!? or ?Clothes on Sale!? so that people know what it is about.
The key to picking the correct keyword, really just boils down to how you want to approach your market. If you want to appeal to bargain hunters, then choose the words like the example above. If you want to attract teens, then know the things that interest them and use their slang words. The point here is to print the best possible keyword that can attract your target market. Don't think of big words, just simple ones. Once you have it, your work is virtually half done.
One image only (optional):
With your keyword already picked out, if you want, you can also print an image on your flyer. Some flyer designs do not really require images, but sometimes it helps to have some supporting pictures to help enhance the look and efficiency of your flyer. Take note though that since flyers are pretty small in their own right, you only have space for one really good and big image, or a bunch of small ones. In most cases, printing one full color flyer image is the best choice.
Your image should support your flyer. If it is about a community raffle for example, then try to print a picture of the grand prize in the flyer. If it is for your shop, then have an image of your flagship product to entice people in buying it. Don't get too overboard though with the image. Flyers need supporting text to do their job and not distracting ones. So manage your images wisely and make space for them in your flyer layout.
Layout simply and effectively
Speaking of layouts, a flyer's overall design layout should be very simple. You don't need to complicate stuff by designing intricate and overly arty blockings of images and text. To do an easy flyer layout, simply put your main keyword on the top part of the flyer with the supporting image below it. Below that image, you can print the rest of the text which details your full color flyer message. You can have the top text printed in the biggest font size that is practical for your purposes, and then have your supporting details printed in smaller fonts. All of these things can be center aligned in your flyer for easy designing. In fact, it is so easy you can do this in most office software like Microsoft Word.
