Because women have their monthly menstruation, which may deprive them of iron. Poor iron intake or lack of it can further compound the possibility of thinning hair.

* Use of drugs. The use of drugs as well as contraceptives, steroids, and any drug to help lower blood pressure can also cause hair thinning in the long run.

* Stress. Stress is a known factor that affects the mood of women, but stress is especially intense when someone close has died. In such a condition, emotional support is needed.
