The U.S. Supreme Court has not ruled on a case of this importance since the 70's. In the past, holders of that esteemed office have been subject to verbal and bodily abuse, along with having to make decisions that may haunt them for the rest of their lives. Fortunately for the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court, and all Americans, this is neither one of the decisions that will be difficult nor one that will haunt them. Gun ownership in America is vital, and the decision is simple.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight often point out that there is little American historical precedent for gun restrictions of any sort. According to the nation's leaders in gun training, possession of firearms has always been very common. In fact, for the first two-thirds of America's very short history, firearms were common. Even firearms training was common: food was needed and homesteads needed to be protected - plenty of target practice.

In fact, the argument could be made that up until about seventy years ago, the only time that firearms were not common or prevalent on American soil was when the government was too afraid of the citizens to allow them to keep firearms. The revolution is one excellent example of this: the government was afraid of the colonists and therefore restricted firearms. Thinking that without guns there would be no uprising, the government removed firearms. Other than that, Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight encourage anyone to show a time that firearms weren't prevalent in America.

So the U.S. Supreme Court's decision should be easy: declare the handgun ban unconstitutional. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight want to see all of America armed with firearms and firearms training. Ignatius Piazza knows that America's safety lies in gun training, and hopes that the U.S. Supreme Court will agree that America needs firearms.
