Stress At The Workplace

Stress at the workplace is guaranteed. No matter what effort you make to prevent it or how hard you try, at the end of the day you are stressed. The worst part is that this stress gets transferred from your work to your personal life as well, creating havoc wherever you go. So how is it that you can enjoy work in a stress free environment? Business coaching will help you to deal with the stress at the workplace. However, this is not a solution to your clinical anxiety problems. If you suffer from a more serious problem then it is best to get professional medical help.
Business coaches may not be able to help you with severe stress, but can be of tremendous help when it is concerned with everyday stress that occurs frequently at the work place. This stress can affect your performance at work leading to more stress and could also be worrying you continuously. Once you are stressed on a continuous basis, it also has the capacity to affect your physical as well as mental well-being.
First let us understand the factors that cause stress. When workers are in any of the following situations it can lead to stress:
. A worker who is being overworked or working for longer hours is prone to stress.
. Lack of clear instructions or the implementation of new management techniques and even their performance.
. Replacement at the job or becoming redundant at work.
The more a stressful situation is prolonged the more chances that it will lead to anxiety. This is especially true if you feel the situation is helpless. You can distinguish between stress and anxiety with the physical symptoms that are present. Anxiety symptoms may include sweaty palms, irregular and shallow breathing patterns and even palpitations.
So how can you avoid getting stressed at work? Well here are a few tips that will help you relax during stressful times and ways in which you can cope with stress. As stress is a part of work, you may not have the option of eliminating it completely but learning to survive the hard times will help. The first and easiest way by which you can help yourself calm down is to go somewhere quiet and take deep breaths. This will require you to take in long, deep breaths and exhale slowly. You should take at least six deep breaths for it to help relax you.
Another thing is that when you are at work do not engage in anything that might lead you to lie or cover up some of your actions. So always consider your actions before you go ahead with it. This is because once a lie has been said you are constantly under stress thinking you may get caught any time soon and you may have to lie again.
At work, it is always better to write down everything rather than put it down in memory. This is because the lesser the things you have to remember, the easier it is for you be cope with other issues that spring up.
