You can choose from a scuba diving resort which offers diving as part of its activities and may also provide training and equipment as well, or you can choose a scuba diving vacation, where you set up scuba diving activities outside of the resort setting.

It is probably a wise idea to look for independant websites that provide you with information about diving destinations. Most of the time those sites have reviews about dive centers and resorts. That's what you are looking for: reviews from customers.

But there is a huge difference with scuba diving. YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO LEARN SCUBA DIVING. I can never say this enough. I learnt scuba diving when I was 38. Now I'm not saying that 38 is a ripe old age but still, the body does feel somewhat less strong and less resilient. Added to that, as we get older, we also seem to have more fears. The fun and excitement of scuba diving will make certain you remember the experience forever. It's quite possible you'll enjoy it so much that you want to scuba dive again. You can buddy up with your friend and go scuba diving together on a regular basis.
