Secret Service In Harm's Way
Jim Brown
Having fun in all your travel, business trip or vacation, is of utmost importance. The catch, however, is that it is never fun when you keep a cautious lookout for things, people or events that can possibly make your supposed retreat or break an unforgettable one, taking that from a negative viewpoint.
First off, create the awareness. Be up-to-date with the airlines' rules. Since the September 11, 2001 incident, strict regulations regarding passengers' luggage size and amount have been imposed by airlines. Rules direct travelers to check their luggage size requirements before their flights, or otherwise pay extra charges to be able to bring their bag on board.
Be mindful of the US Department of Homeland Security's imposed restrictions and limitations on the amount of liquids that can be carried on an aircraft. This control has been also imposed in Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
Experts also suggest checking for your destination's weather forecast from which you can plan and schedule accordingly.
Additionally, be sure to know your destination's local traditions. Unusual as it may seem, some customs equate t-shirt for dinner with serious blunder. Showing skin or even bare shoulders may block your entrance into St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
Now that you have full knowledge of your destination's norms, contact your travel agency regarding your preferred or booked hotel's amenities so you'll know what to or not to bring. No matter how minor, a piece not brought is always a worry left behind!
A significant idea is for you not to take what you don't want to lose. The secret? Pack lightly. Visualize how to make smaller each item that you intend to bring. At this point, make sure you select the trendy yet durable travel luggage bag that truly keeps up.
Take with you your jewelry at a minimum. Leave behind the flashy pieces that are major attractions to thieves. Similarly, save space by not taking with you not your entire make up luggage, er, cabinet. Leave the expensive perfume behind when your scented lotions do the job just the same.
Leave behind other accessories like film and batteries for your camera. Add the adventure of discovery to your trip by shopping the area for a local brand of the little frills.
Keep toiletries in small travel kits that are stocked perpetually in waterproof cases. An important, though mostly neglected tip, is not to fill bottles with any liquid up to the very top. Traveling, particularly by plane, creates pressure that can force fluid contents to expand, and to eventually overflow.
Incidentals tell us that it is wise to bring with us important items including some aspirin, a sunscreen or sunblock and a Woolite bottle for your first-aid kit. A Swiss army knife can come in handy for uncorking a bottle of wine or for peeling fruits. It is not allowed on the plane, however, so this can be packed in the checked luggage. Remember to always take with you in your carry-on luggage your travel documents, medication, keys, jewelry and checks, among other valuables.
Check the airlines' or travel organizations' vital information on labeling your luggage accordingly.
Now that you know have well-prepared what to bring, button all buttons and zip all zippers. Keep in mind that having fun is only possible with a worry-free trip!
