Motorola L7– 'Cz Slim Is In...
Ben Bradle
Following what Motorola does best, i.e to produce slimmest handset with great looks, it came out with another stylish handset called the Motorola L7. The concept that was hoisted with the flagship model RAZR, is carried further with the Motorola L7. Thus, in one way it can be said that the Motorola L7 is a revised version of Motorola RAZR. The latter comes in a candy bar design.
The handset comes at a remarkable slim shape, measuring about 114mm x 49mm x 11.5 mm in size. It is wrapped in a metal finish, imparting a sophisticated rich look. This also means that the Motorola L7 is robust and can take a lot in terms of mishandling. Yes, it is a little on the heavier side, but for such promising strength, handling a little bulk should not be a problem.
To retain the slim design, the keypad of Motorola L7 is kept flat. This no doubt casts an impressive picture, but distinguishing and typing becomes a little difficult. Also, the speed of SMS was slower and at times keys had to be pressed hard. But the blue backlit of the keypad sure brought smiles on the face.
The 262K-color LCD screen which sports a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, also makes the users of Motorola L7 happy. This means viewing of pictures becomes a real treat to the eyes. Like its predecessor, the Motorola L7 also has a sluggish user interface. The problems becomes more serious during SMS. Further, the texts and icons seem to be pixilated. Perhaps the problem could be changed with an alteration of the colour scheme. The Motorola L7 has a humble 0.3 megapixel VGA camera, with 4 x digital zoom and Trans-flash shot.
More of Motorola L7 includes- Quad-band and Bluetooth connectivity, a 128MB Transflash card and a H500 Bluetooth headset, support for SMS, MMS and email messaging with iTap input process, music player and number of lifestyle features.
It might seem that Motorola has given more attention to design than function, but so long there is a market demand, who complains!
