Very few of us have the picture perfect looks, and most times we are our own worst critics. We are always finding something wrong with our facial features for example. Our nose is too big or our eyes are too small. These are all things that are beyond our control. Not too often will anyone complain bitterly about their yellow teeth, because they partly have control over this. I mean if worst comes to worst you just don't have an open mouth smile; you can squeeze by with what they call a tight lipped smile. It may be passable once in a while, but you can bet it doesn't bring out your best features.
Actually if you really want to take the attention off of what you consider as facial flaws, then dazzle them with a smile that attracts everyone. If you can get their attention to your smile then they aren't paying attention to your flaws right? So if you really think about it then that smile that attracts everyone is your best weapon against imperfections.
Now this is a great plan, but if your teeth aren't so white then what do you do. Well you simply start a whitening program. You can buy your products to do this at home. Or you can be more aggressive and have it done at the Dentist. This second option is going to be quite a bit more expensive initially, but in the long run it may end up being cheaper.
Think of it this way. If your teeth are quite yellow then it's going to take some work to get that attractive smile. So if you get it done initially at the Dentist he is going to use a stronger product, but will work much faster and more aggressively. This particular treatment can be repeated several times during the one treatment. In all probability you are going to notice a very significant difference in the color of your teeth.
Now if you decide to use the over the counter whitening agents, then eventually you will get some decent effects there as well. The difference here is you will probably have to buy a fair amount of it over a period of time if you teeth are badly stained. So you make the choice, in the long wrong the overall costs will most likely be comparable.
Thinking of it this way you are probably figuring to go for the way that will give the fastest results. There is nothing wrong with this provided you have healthy gums. The solutions used are much stronger at the Dentist office and can irritate your gums if not cautious; this temporary situation certainly would not help give you an attractive smile for the first few days. If you feel that you have sensitive gums, then in may be worth being a little more patient, and work towards that beautiful smile over a longer period of time.
Sometimes individuals who are embarrassed about their teeth will say it really doesn't matter much to them. Usually this is because they feel that nothing can be done about it.
