When foreseeing for the web, one aspect of the design that requirements long and hard consideration is colour. Choosing colours without thought or knowledge may discourage users from the site. Picking the right colours with thought and background knowledge can lead to a greater design.Knowing about colour psychology and symbolism is indispensable to knowing which colours affect folk in certain ways. Blue may imply depth, professionalism, trust and honour. Dark blue is used by numerous corporate companies but this colour may also be construed as cold. The colour black is about power, style, evil and mourning. Rock musicians regularly use black backgrounds because of its association with the dark side and anger. The colour yellow can symbolise wealth, joy optimism and punch. Using yellow in website design is a distinguished guise to make components stand out from the rest of the site.
Green is linked to trees, money and envy. The most calming colour in the spectrum, its very popular with web-sites that are associated with nature.White is linked with simple and clean designs, so it is favoured by myriads design companies. It conjures up senses of cleanliness, simplicity, honesty and innocence.Evoking feelings of passion, sex, fire and aggression, red could be a highly charged colour. The brighter side of red is bold, so it may be utilised to create awareness.
Purple has connotations of royalty, indulgence and luxury. It is not a widely used colour in website design, plausibly because it is termed a feminine colour.Creating a feeling of earthiness, nature and poverty, brown is very similar to green in that it can be used to give a relaxed feeling to a site.
Orange is associated with fire, enthusiasm, heat and danger. But it is also a very friendly and youthful colour that is used frequently in web-sites aimed at youth society.Tradition, stability, depth and nature are all associated with the colour brown. But it is very similar to green in the fact that it is also related to trees, mother earth and calm.
Knowing about what colours symbolise and the subconscious power of them can be of illustrious benefit when designing web sites. By knowing the target audience, web designers can thoughtfully choose colours which connect to the end user thus creating the site appealing and attractive. E-commerce settings could be improved by guiding the user to the buy now button by drawing attention and creating contrast.
