About Diwali And Diwali Gifts
Satish Kumar
Diwali, the festival of lights, is the most popular of all the festivals from India, and is also the occasion for celebrations by Jains and Sikhs as well as Hindus. The festival of Diwali extends over five days. Lights, fireworks and sweets are involved, hence it's a great favorite with children. Every year, the festive season of Diwali comes back with all the excitement. Times may have undergone a sea change but customs and traditions remain the same. The festival celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance, although the actual legends that go with the festival are different in different parts of India.
The name of the festival comes from the Sanskrit word Dipavali , meaning row of lights. Diwali is known as the 'festival of lights' because houses, shops, and public places are decorated with small earthenware oil lamps called Diyas. These lamps, which are traditionally fueled by mustard oil, are placed in rows in windows, doors and outside buildings to decorate them. To mark this day people light diyas and candles all around their house. During the evening Lakshmi Puja is performed to seek divine blessings of Goddess of Wealth. People also exchange Diwali Gifts with all their dear ones and burst fire crackers in the night to express their happiness. They also celebrate the return of Rama and Sita to Rama's kingdom of Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile.
However simple these may be, Indusmall.com excels in providing high quality Diwali gifts that ranges from traditional Indian sweets like kaju sweets, cadbury chocolates to dry fruits and diwali gift packs. Shop Diwali gifts from this site for all your loved ones along with online e cards and corporate Diwali gifts to friends.
