Developing and maintaining an email list or qualified
leads is fundamental to growing your Internet Marketing
business. Try these two strategies for developing a hefty
list of customers, and your business will soar!
Both of these strategies will use an online tool called an
Autoresponder.
An Autoresponder is an essential tool that acts as a
database of customer information. An Autoresponder
follows a set sequence of mailings, developed by you to
ensure timely promotion for your various marketing
campaigns.
It's all automatic, you just set up the message and
sequence one time, and the Autoresponder will follow
that sequence for every customer in the database that
you choose. The best part, each message can be
customized. It doesn't matter if you have a list of 100,
1000, or even 1,000,000 - each message will be
personalized to each customer. Aweber is a very good
Autoresponder, available at a very low price.
Strategy 1: PopUp Promotion
This strategy is very useful if you have a fair amount of
traffic coming to your website. This strategy uses
PopUps, something we are all very familiar with now. A
PopUp is a window that opens up while another website
is open. PopUps work, that is why you see them so much
on the internet.
PopUp ads can be programmed to PopUp whenever you
want, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, whenever you want. If
someone stays at your website for 60 seconds, chances
are good that they are interested in your content. This is
a perfect opportunity to place a PopUp ad that will
capture that potential customer's information.
Make sure to make the PopUp ad relevant to the content
on your site, that is what initially drew the customer in.
For example, if your site is about home gardening, place
a PopUp that promotes a free subscription to your
gardening newsletter. Ask for the customer's name and
email address, now you have a qualified lead who you
can direct relevant goods and services to.
Be creative as possible, there is a lot of software
available to create PopUps, with many options on
frequency, timing, and style. As always, test which
PopUps work best, and you'll start building a list in no
time.
Strategy 2: Opt-In Page
Opt-In Pages, also known as a Squeeze Page, is a great
way to develop an email list when you don't have a
website, or you do but don't have a lot of traffic. An Opt-
In Page is another way to offer great content in
exchange for a customer's information.
First, choose a market to research. Look around, and
find a niche that you would like to create a product on.
The sky is the limit, you can write an e-book, do an e-
course, perform an interview, whatever. The key here is
to direct this to those who are interested in that
information.
The Name Capture Page is the tool that offers this great
content - in exchange for the customer's email address,
name, etc. Creating a Name Capture Page is easier than
you think, it's no different than creating a website.
Now that you have your market and your product, how
do you promote it? Use Google Adwords to drive traffic
to your Name Capture Page. What happens after they
see this page is up to you, you can route them to your
product or to an affiliate product. If they
Subscribe but don't buy your product, you will still have
the ability to resell them at a later time.
Opt-In pages are great, because they allow you to sell
products and services without traffic. Not only that, you
will know what types of information people are looking
for, so you can send new products to customers who are
already interested in that market.
Using these strategies is an effective, proven way to
develop quality email lists of qualified leads in no time.
