There are two important issues that may give us a clue about who hated King Solomon very much and ruined his reputation.
The first issue is the fact that Solomon was not from Levi tribe (the tribe of the priests).
The second issue is the fact that Solomon was very straight and strict and he strictly obeyed the law which says: "Do not take a gift, for the gift blinds the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous" (Exodus 23:8). That is why he did not accept or take the gifts.
Read about what he had done with the gifts of the Queen in my article:" Not in Bible but in Quran (12); King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba".
In addition, King Solomon was also severe, he put rigid regulation for his people to follow, if anyone tried to violate his rules, Solomon would have punished him severely.
Read what he said when he did not see the hoopoe, in my article:" Not in Bible but in Quran (11); King Solomon and His Unique Hoopoe".
On the other hand, every successful king should have enemies which hate him and are jealous of him.
The people loved King Solomon very much because of his success and his wisdom.
But the priests hated him very much because he is not from their tribe and he banned them to take the gifts or money from the people.
The priests were interested very much to take the tenth of the money of the people beside the gifts.
Hence, there was a big problem between the priests and King Solomon. They tried many times to violate the Solomon's rules and he punished them severely.
On the other hand, the Bible describes the priests in many verses (as evil doers and killers) as for example:
1- They are evil doer, (Jeremiah 32:32).
2- They committed sins and iniquities and have shed the blood of the just, (Lamentations 4:13).
3- They have violated the law, and have profaned the holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, (Ezekiel 22:26).
4- They judge for reward, teach for hire and love money, (Micah 3:11).
5- They have polluted the sanctuary; they have done violence to the law, (Zephaniah 3:4).
6- They are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loved gifts, and followed after rewards: they judge not the fatherless; neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them, (Isaiah 1:23).
7- They are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment, (Isaiah 28:7).
8- Every one is given to covetousness; every one dealt falsely, (Jeremiah 6:13).
9- Every one dealt falsely, (Jeremiah 8:10).
10- They are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment, (Isaiah 28:7).
11- Every one is given to covetousness; every one dealt falsely, (Jeremiah 6:13).
12- Every one dealt falsely, (Jeremiah 8:10).
13- They turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment, (1 Samuel 8:3).
14- They are full of ravening and wickedness (Luke 11:39).
15- They loved money (Luke 16:14).
16- They hated any successful one, Look at them dealing with the Lord Jesus:
"They went out, and held a council against him (Jesus), how they might destroy him (Jesus)," (Matthew 12:14), and
"They said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!" (John 12:19).
17- That is why Jesus described them as "They are the children of them which killed the prophets," (Matthew 23:31).
Also, they said that the Lord Jesus is the son of fornication!! And Jesus said: you are the son of Satan! The liar!
Read John 8:39-44, in these verses you find:
40] But now ye seek to kill me (kill Jesus),
41] We are not born of fornication! We have one Father, even God.
44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Back to Solomon, he treated them strictly and was severe with them when they violated the rules and took money and gifts. They hated him very much. The Bible was always in their hand, no one could touch it, and when he died, they spoiled his reputation and wrote that he had 1000 women and those women led him to be idolater! The smart wise reader should be the pieces together and it seems logic to imagine what the priests had done with Solomon on the basis of what they did with the Lord Jesus.
Moreover, the Quran denied that and condemned this stories and says clearly that Solomon was never ever an idolater!
In addition, the Noble Quran declares that every prophet has enemies which are the harm doers, the evil doers among men and jinn.
This concept is not found in the Bible.
Surah (Chapter) 6:112
112] likewise did we make for every messenger enemy, - evil ones among men and jinn, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. if thy lord had so planned, they would not have done it: so leave them and their inventions alone.
Surah (Chapter) 25:31
31] To every prophet we have appointed an enemy among the harm doers; your lord is sufficient for you, a guide and a helper.
Also, the Quran says that the Jews used to belie and to kill their prophets. Who were making the first move among the Jews? They were priests of course!
Surah (Chapter) 5:70
70] We took a covenant with the children of Israel and sent forth messengers to them. But whenever a messenger came to them with that which did not suit their fancies they belied some and killed others.
