What emotion is a person supposed to feel after they finish looking at one of your poster print advertisements? Are they supposed to be excited at the prospect of doing business with you, giddy about owning the product that you sell, or are they just shrugging their shoulder and saying, ?Oh well,? before walking away?



Advertising needs to naturally have some kind of element of excitement in it if you want people to stay interested in what you have to say. Part of what generates this excitement is the way you phrase things, and the kind of call to action you put at the end of your marketing.

The best calls to action are going to be ones that a person can readily do, and this means certain forms of marketing are going to need to have different types of calls to action to get people excited.

If you're sending people postcards than a good call to action might be for them to log onto a website. Odds are good a person will get your postcard at home where they'll have easy access to their computer and the internet. You can also tell them to call today, or if you have a specific store, tell them to come in today. No matter what you need to tell them what to do next.

If you want to print posters instead than the location of your posters is going to be a key component of your call to action. If you put up your posters somewhat close to where your store is actually located than you should obviously be telling people to come in as soon as possible, or tell them to come in right away. For posters farther away phone numbers work well, or maybe even tell them to write down what the poster has to say.

The reason why these work so well is because people respond to direct commands like this. You don't want to be forceful necessarily, but merely telling them to do something will encourage them to act right away.

If you did print posters and a person did see it on the wall, they might have interest in seeing what your store is all about, but without a call to action they might very well walk away. The call to action takes their natural interest and tells them they should act on it. This gives them a reason to, and increases the odds that they will.

All advertising needs some sense of urgency to get people moving, and the call to action is the perfect way to get people up and going. You can easily fit a call to action into any kind of marketing you want to do, and you'll always see an improvement when you do so.
