When did you first realize that you had been living your life without any sense of purpose. Living from day to day without any real plan or direction for your life other than getting through this day waking up the next day and doing it all over again. You thought you were fine. I mean if you were like me you didn't even know you were missing anything. That you could have and do more. I had never heard anyone speak about goals or vision or purpose. I'ld never heard anyone say that not having any of those things was the reason I was just getting by.



I remember the first time I heard someone say that without any definate goals or plans for your life you will have no idea where you are going and even less idea how to get there. He said that people without goals wind up working for those who do. That was something so simple I couldn't believe I had never thought of it before, but like the majority of the people I talk to everyday... I hadn't.

The world was opened up to me.I began to dream of things, of possibilities for my life. It's what happens to all of us when we go from that place in our lives where we don't have any definate plans or goals to a brand new place where we do. If you've done that congratulations. You've allowed yourself to have hope, you actually can see a brighter future for you and your family. You look forward to getting up in the morning to work toward something instead of just getting through the day. Now is when you need to watch out.

Believe it or not the majority of your friends, family , and coworkers don't want to hear about your new found hope or your new found optimism. Now they won't all go over the top and call you an idiot or a crazy person,(though some will). Most of them will just dump on you in more subtle insidious ways.They'll say thing like "It will never happen", "Noone we've known has ever done that before", "That kind of thing never works", or my personal all time favorite from the people who "care" about you "I just don't want you to be disappointed when it doesn't work out." Thanks.

I've come to realize that alot of the cliches you hear about success have loads of truth in them. To get through the difficult times and the people who mean well but dump on you anyway you really do have to want it bad enough. You really do have to believe it to see it. Just those two alone have alot of truth in them and there are a bunch more but you get my point. You won't be able to get through those times and those people without having a plan and goals and sticking to them. You just won't.

So if you've finally come to the point where you have developed some goals and purpose and vision for your life be happy. There are so many who haven't.
