I don’t know if I’m the only one who has told himself, “I can’t." I’m sure I’m not. I have realized that there are a lot of things I haven’t done just for that reason. I told myself “I can’t." I also realized that I didn’t have what I call “The Want To." I know that, to do anything, you have to have The Want To.
Athletes, train, practice, play and continue to train, practice, and play all in the hope of becoming professional athletes. They dedicate themselves to hours of discipline to achieve that goal.
They have The Want To. The Want To, to become professionals, have fame, make a ton of money, have the things they probably didn’t have when they were younger, and when they retire, not have to worry about their future.
The Want To, is really the desire to achieve what it is you want. That desire should be so strong, that you refuse to let anything or anyone stand in your way. That includes you. You can stand in your own way of success by telling yourself, “I’m not smart enough, or good enough, or I can’t."
The Want To, not only applies to athletes, it pertains to anyone. Musicians, Artists, and in my own case, a welder. I wanted to become a welder where I work, but I was told that I’d never make it. It was then that I realized that I had The Want To. That negative statement just made me more determined. I worked hard, and I did become a welder.
I had The Want To, and I wasn’t willing to let anyone, or anything someone said to me, stop me from doing what I wanted to do.
We all know someone or are someone who might smoke. We know it’s not good for us, and can lead to serious health problems. People have tried to quit and many have succeeded, but others that have tried have not succeeded. Why? Most of those who did quit had The Want To.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that those who failed to quit didn’t have The Want To. I know there are other factors involved, but those who did quit had The Want To. I’ve talked to many ex-smokers and they all have said that they WANTED to quit, and that’s what helped them succeed.
If you have a goal in life that you want to accomplish, you have to have The Want To. People have started their own home businesses and are now working for themselves instead of a BOSS. Many took a leap of faith and did it. Some think they might like to work at home but…
Why do some make it happen and others don’t? I’ve asked people who do work at home that question, and I’ve come to one conclusion. Most people don’t really have The Want To.
They are afraid. Afraid to fail, or afraid to succeed. Many just don’t want to “take that chance." People, who are successful in their own home businesses, took that chance and did whatever they had to do to succeed.
A friend of mine, who is very successful working at home, gave me some great advice. I quote him, “To get what you have never had, you have to do what you have never done."
A very wise man with very good advice. So, why not get The Want To, and take that chance. You’ll probably be very surprised at what you can accomplish.
