I live under the flightpath and it don't get me down   It's just a regular interruption on the western side of town   They send Boeings from Tacoma near on 50 times a day   But they sure can help me out when I've got nothing left to say      Turn off and watch them come all day someone's daddy's gone away   Shouting out from the flashing light someone's baby's home tonight      I wear an earplug to hear TV ,coz I miss all the good lines now   When a KLM airliner comes in from Copenhagen town      I sit under the clothesline I watch their stomachs white   Like a body surfing city kid the trail they leave behind      Turn off and watch them come all day someone's daddy's gone away   Shouting out from the flashing light someone's baby's home tonight      I can often watch it dissipate as if it never was   And I almost could believe it except for that black shit on my lawn      I live under the flightpath getting birds from the inner-west   I'd sure miss them if they weren't around but will those fuckers ever rest?
