I need love   Eu preciso de amor   that's what my portuguese professor told me today   i don't think he meant it, though   because he's got a wife   and he seems pretty happy, you know   but who knows   maybe he does need love      love is a thing   that gets inside of your brain   and it makes you wanna shout   yeah it makes you wanna sing   love, you see   it's just this thing      i saw this kids in the hall sketch the other day   and the guy   i think it was kevin mcdonald, but i can't be sure   whoever he was   the guy, told his girlfriend or date or whatever   he told her, "i love you from the top of every mountain   to the tip of every toe"   i thought that was a nice way to love somebody   i hope i love somebody like that some day      love is a thing   that gets inside of your brain   and it makes you wanna shout   yeah it makes you wanna sing   love, you see   it's just this thing      just today   this morning i was   listening to half japanese   and jad fair, he was singing about this girl   about how she was an angel   and how she made him happy   because she was his   and i thought   what a great way to feel   i want to feel that way   but i didn't feel sad about it   no   i felt happy   because who can be sad when jad fair is happy   really, now      love is a thing   that gets inside of your brain   and it makes you wanna shout   yeah it makes you wanna sing   love, you see   it's just this thing
