For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “no frills", it basically means that there’s nothing else attached to the ride. All food and drinks served on board comes with a price tag and there’s no in flight entertainment. In addition, the seating arrangements on Air Asia’s planes are a tad tight. There’s not much leg room so those of you who have legs that go up to your neck might have problems trying to manoeuvre into a comfortable position. Despite all that, Air Asia still generates a large number of passengers because not many people are fussy about comfort when the prices are ridiculously low. So what happens when you book your flight early to later realize that you can’t make the date? A penalty fee of RM75 (one way) will be charged for passengers who wish to change the dates of departure and arrival. If you can’t make the trip at all, you can opt to transfer the ticket to another name but that would also come with a RM50 fee. Either way, it still is the cheaper (possibly the cheapest) way to fly. Service on Air Asia’s flights are pretty decent. There’s the compulsory speech before and after every flight and the attendants do try their best to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers. Comfort might not be something that can be helped though but its good to know that they try. During the flight, the attendants will make their rounds selling snacks and drinks. Since no outside food and drinks are allowed on board, it is possible that you might need to purchase these items from them if you are on a slightly longer flight. Air
