Lightings for sport facilities

Lightings for sport facilities is to provide a good visibility of the sports action and comfort of the audience within the area where the sport is taken place. A good sports lightings model should be able to producing a coherent image of scene without discomfort glare and stroboscopic effects.

Lighting requirements for sport facilities are generally classified into three classes as defined under EN12193 standard, which include international and national level, regional and local level as well as training and recreational level.

Traditionally, lighting fixture fitted with high intensity discharge lamps were adaptable to most of the sport facilities, which include mainly high pressure sodium and metal halide lamps.

Since 2010, NOVETE® has developed a series of highly efficient LED luminaires as an alternative to the HPS and metal halide in sport lighting applications attributed to the advancement of the technology. Generally, they adopt modular light source integrated with rational thermal management system, thereby produce high levels of illuminance with low energy consumption and minimal cost of maintenance. This is essentially important to ensure the efficiency and functionality are safely accessible and maintainable throughout the rated life span of the luminaires.
