Though there is no magical formula for when it is the exact right moment to propose, there are some very clear signs of when it is NOT. If you are thinking of proposing in any of the following scenarios, you should really think things through:1) You only are looking to propose, because SHE wants you to do it2) You are looking to propose only because she is pregnant3) You are not certain that you are ready to be faithful to one person4) You two have had a “rocky" relationship and have just got back together5) You want to propose to get her to stop seeing other men6) You are proposing to get back at a former mate7) You or your mate are not divorced from a current relationship yetThese situations put your relationship at risk of not being successful and should not be taken lightly. Though there are exceptions to every rule, these scenarios have a high probability of not working out well. Reconsider, at least for the moment, whether a proposal and the following marriage are in the best interest of everyone involved. I am not saying that you should not propose to anyone that you love and feel can be a vital part of your life as a partner. I just present that these situations will not clear themselves with a proposal or marriage alone and it will not “cure" these problems. So, to increase your chances of a happy and successful marriage, look to correct the problems that you and your mate face in the relationship and move forward with the proposal AFTER these situations have receded.
