Bad Breath Mouth Wash

    View:
Although bad breath usually comes from the mouth, occassionally it takes a little detour and you get bad breath out of your nose. This can be difficult to pinpoint as the nose and mouth are so very close, especially in young children. It is not a complete mystery however, and there are a few main causes and pointers to those particular problems.

Young children like to put things in their mouths, noses and ears. Part of their exploration is pushing those little things into unlikely orifices. This may result in small parts or food being lodged in the nose, where it can gradually decompose and start to cause bad breath out of nose. If there is no obvious obstruction then a physician will be able to remove any bits that are very deep. One of the common indicators that your child could have something stuck in their nose would be a discharge from the nose. If it is deep enough you may not be able to spot it, so ask your doctor if you have concerns.

Interior nasal discharge or post nasal-drip can also cause bad breah out of the nose. This fuels the bacteria in the mouth that are associated with the production of the smell. The bacteria that cause stinky breath are located at the back of the mouth and the post nasal drip occurs down the throat, right at the back of your mouth. The proteins in the nasal drip are exactly what the bacteria need to go into overdrive creating what can often be described as a "sick smell."

Although bacteria in the mouth are the common cause of bad breath, bad breath can also be caused by something that is eaten, such as garlic or onions. While these foods can directly react with the bacteria in the mouth to cause the smell, they are also absorbed in the stomach and then spread through the body in the bloodstream. The lungs will absorb the smell from the blood, and exhale it. If the mouth is closed, then this smell will appear to come only from the nose.

While all these may cause smells from your nose, these kinds of smells do not usually come exlusively from your nose. Most of the time you will have bad breath from your mouth as well as bad breath from nose. They are often a case of physical abnormalities or particular infections.

Many people suffer from halitosis and never know it. Other people might be too nice to come right out and tell you that your breath stinks. And we all know it is very difficult to smell your own breath. Your bad breath might be interfering with your social and professional success without you even noticing. So how do you know that you have bad breath? Are there things to look for? There are a number of things to look for and to take into consideration when you're trying to determine whether or not you have bad breath.

Do you have a bad taste in your mouth often? Having a bad taste in your mouth could mean that you have halitosis. Are people always stepping away from you when you talk to them? Maybe they are doing their best to avoid direct contact with you? These can also be signs that you have bad breath or halitosis. Are people always offering you a stick of chewing gum or some mints? If so then this might be a sign that your breath stinks. Another sign of bad breath is having a white or yellow film on the top of your tongue.

There are options available to you if you suffer from a chronic bad breath problem. You can be treated by visiting a clinic or you can purchase home treatment kits and treat your bad breath from the comfort of your own home. One of the causes of smelly breath is dry mouth. Most of us take saliva for granted until it is gone and we begin suffering from dry mouth. Statistics show that at least one third of adults in United States of America suffer from xerostomia.

A normal individual's salivary glands will usually produce approximately four to six cups of saliva each day. Dry mouth symptoms can begin developing rapidly when this amount drops a significant amount. There are a number of symptoms that one could experience when suffering from xerostomia. Some of the symptoms include mild dryness or pain and burning in your mouth. There are a number of things that can occur if dry mouth is not treated effectively within a reasonable amount of time. A few of the consequences of xerostomia include gum disease, increased tooth decay, and halitosis. This is one of the many reasons why it is so important to treat the problem quickly.

There are a number of things that can cause xerostomia however the most common cause of the decrease of saliva in the mouth is taking certain types of medications. There are approximately over four hundred medications, prescribed and non-prescribed, that are known to cause xerostomia. Dry mouth is known to cause halitosis. Dry mouth can cause the pH or acid/base balance within the mouth to become altered which causes the environment within the mouth to become more acceptable to the growth of anaerobic bacteria. The only good thing that can be said about dry mouth is that it is easily treated.
