Love handles. What is there to love? You can try and maybe succeed to get rid of them but most of us face a long long struggle just to reduce the appearance of that tummy furniture. So what can you do? There are a lot simple steps which will help, one or two of which I mention below?
Change your upper body shape.
As we all know, working on the abs with sit ups, crunches and other exercises is one way of blasting the handles but if can make your upper body bigger (shoulders and biceps), your mid section will look a lot smaller.
If you ask at your local gym, there are many exercises which you can do to achieve this look. Try the 'lat pull down'. Start by sitting with your back flat against the seat, grab the bar making sure that your hands are shoulder width apart. The pull the bar to your chest and pause. The extend arms back to staring position. That's one, you need to do 15 repetitions.
Get some water inside you.
Yes, that old saying again. You have heard this before I'm sure but it is true. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water every single day. Why? It will help to reduce water retention (yes, sounds strange) which is caused by excess salt. Water will also help to covert the stored fat into energy and quell your hunger. This is an easy step to introduce into your life.
Start to crunch.
Even by having more muscle in your midsection will always reduce the love handle look, you will; need to remember that spot reduction exercises on there own will never work. You need to and must combine this type of exercise with good diet habits and cardio work like running, swimming, cycling, etc.
But there are some exercise which even though they will not work on there own, you should be doing them. Try this one:
Start by crossing your left leg over the right one and then twist your torso while bringing your right elbow towards your left knee. Try to do as many as you can and then repeat on the other side.
Best Way To Get Rid Of Love Handles
Love handles, belly fat or tires are all names for the fat around your waist that bulges over your belt. If junk food and
lots of beer is a regular part of your diet, it's very like that you have love handles.
If you want to find out if you have love handles, there is a very easy test you can do. Give yourself a pinch by your
waist. Are you holding on to a flabby roll of fat? That is your very own love handle.
The area around your waist is the last area your body will pay attention to losing. This means it will not be enough to
just do a couple of exercises, and your love handles will disappear. It's the toughest area to lose fat, so it will take
some time to shed your love handles, but it can be done.
These two love handle exercises are going to involve targeting the oblique muscle areas. The oblique muscle group is the
waist area.
Twist crunches targets your obliques and abs, and is very effective. They basically put a twist to a normal sit-up.
1. Lie on your back with your knees slightly bent.
2. With your hands behind on your head, lift your head slowly.
3. Bring your left elbow to your right knee, twisting your body to your right. At the same time extend your left leg.
4. Repeat this step, but twisting to your left.
5. Do twenty repetitions daily.
You might want to take a breather now. Drink a little bit of water and recover from shocking your muscles. Now move on to
the other exercise.
Another good exercise that targets the obliques is the Standing Trunk Twist.
1. Stand up with your feet about a foot apart, knees slightly bent.
2. Twist your upper body to the right, at the same time crossing your right arm out in front of you in the same direction
you are turning. Keep your feet still during the whole exercise.
3. Repeat, twisting to the left.
4. Repeat this action 100 times daily.
Twist Crunches and Standing Trunk Twists are two great exercises that target your love handle area to strengthen and tone.
When incorporated into your daily workout regimen along with your ab exercises, you will soon have a handle on the love
handles.
It's important to combine your exercise program with an aerobic workout. This will boost your metabolism and burn off the
fat. A 30 minute daily cardio program, combined with the love handle exercises will really help you lose the rolls of fat
bulging over your belt.
Let's not forget about your diet. A balanced diet of lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains will get
you on the right track. With the proper diet and the right exercises you will see results much quicker. And the bonus is
that you will see an overall difference, not just around your waist.
