Playing board games is actually a great way to spend time with some of your friends, giving you a social interaction in which you can have fun and spend time with your loved ones. Often, these games can bring out competition between the players and while this is often a lot of fun, you don't always grow as friends because of it. Some games, however, can focus on the nature of your relationships with your friends and games like this, while not only being fun, can help boost the camaraderie between the group. Some of these games have silly premises and others take themselves a little more seriously, but the point is that all of them will help groups of people to walk away from the table, possibly having learned something new, and certainly making everyone feel good about the relationships they have with their friends.
Marry, Date, or Dump is one game that will provide you with a lot of laughs as well as the opportunity to seriously examine what you know about your friends. This game works based on a series of cards, all of which have three names on them. These three names all are related in some way, generally making the card have a theme.
Presidents throughout history and popular contemporary movie stars are all common themes in the cards, often stretching the imagination. However, whenever it is your turn, you draw a card and look at the three names. You then decide what you would personally do with each of the three names, Marry them, Date them, or Dump them. The other players then try to guess what you would do for each of the three and each correct match scores a point for the other players. The game continues for as long as you like and whichever player has the highest number of points at the end is the winner.
Another similar game is Cranium: Whoonu. This game, a spin-off of the immensely popular Cranium Trivia Game, gives players the chance to guess intimate facts about their family and friends. Each round, one player is selected as "The Whoozit" and will be the determining points-giver. Each round, the other players will draw 4 cards each from the Whoonu deck. On each of those cards is either an action or a thing. Each player will then choose one card that they think the Whoozit would like best, and each card is put into an envelope. The Whoozit will then rank those cards in terms of the one thing they like the best to the one thing they like the least.
Depending on who chose those cards, different amounts of points are awarded to the players. This game can provide you and your group with a lot of fun and possibly a lot of laughs. It's great as a team builder and it's good for both children and adults, giving a game that the whole family can play and enjoy. If you're looking for a way to bond with your fellow players, you should check one of these games out today!
