Cardiff is a great place to live in. Hundreds of visitors attend and come to study in the numerous universities in Cardiff and its surrounding areas. One cannot dismiss the carelessness that is seen across several bars and pubs across Cardiff among the girls and men in respect to meeting and dating. Cardiff is safe place compared to other parts of Britain; nevertheless safety should be of absolute importance when it comes to meeting people for the first time.

Here are some general tips when it comes to dating people in the Cardiff area for the first time:

1. Always insist your date to meet in the safe and crowded place such as the Cardiff city centre, a crowded bar such as the Bar Floyd Bar, the Cardiff Winter Wonderland or a several cinemas across Cardiff.

2. Never agree to meet up at your home at for the first time, as it shields you if you decide not to meet for the second time.

3. Always give your mobile number and never your homes.

4. Never agree to get picked up at your house, insist on driving yourself to the venue and make sure you have plenty of fuel just in case you decide to leg it. You never know you might not fancy the person you meet. At this point your date does not know your home, your home number and you have transport so you cannot be followed and harassed.

5. If you are in a restaurant or a cinema; insist that you share the bill and buy your own ticket. This will shied you against any obligation.

6. If you are in a bar, again buy your own drinks especially on the first date and keep an eye on your glass. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants in the Cardiff city centre and the Atlantic Warf area of Cardiff that are brilliant for first dates. Just make sure they are crowded.

7. If you date tells you that they are very religious or spiritual, this doesn't mean that you are safe. Take if with a pinch of salt. Wales in general have been pretty much spiritual for centuries.

8. Tell a friend who you are with and where you intend to go.

Remember Cardiff is the fastest growing capital city in Europe and has attracted lots of attention. People are moving at a rapid rate. Caution should be of utmost important for first time daters not only in Cardiff but all over the UK and the world.
