Then again, I'm not amazed given that most people are thoroughly brainwashed by government schools and a liberal, welfare-entitlement mentality media.
Nevertheless, here we are. Regardless of how you got that way, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is whether or not you are going to CHOOSE to do something about it. It doesn't matter what you FEEL like. Feelings follow choices.
FEELINGS FOLLOW CHOICES.
Picture a train. Like a caboose (feelings) at the end of a train (your mind and will), when the train engine (your power of choice and decision) changes direction, the caboose will eventually follow.
The time frame for change may depend on how long your train is as to how much growing you need to do or how far feelings need to come along. It might take a little while to see that caboose reach that turn that the engine has already made, but it will eventually get there.
Feelings always follow choice. If you want the right feelings, make the right choices. We are a society who lets feelings RULE... and that is a recipe for chaos and confusion. Let your mind and will rule your choices in life, and the good feelings will follow EVERY TIME.
How do you know what choice to make? Most of the time, it is the obvious one. However, the obvious one may be the hardest one to do. That is when people search for some ridiculously complicated option instead of doing what is obvious.
Need more money? Quit wasting what you have and start imitating those who are wealthy (and spiritually balanced).
Do you need to lose weight? Quit feeding your face and get some exercise.
Do you need to be a better wife or husband? Begin by doing the things that good wives and husbands do, even if your feelings don't necessarily match up.
Need to get more done? Quit wasting time. Turn off the television.
We too often want to avoid the obvious "cure" and look for something that takes the blame off us. Then, we can whine and complain that we got a bad break in life. Like-minded people will join you in a good pity-party, while disciplined responsible people might muster up a "Gee, that stinks" but are really thinking "Quit bellyaching and do something about it".
Does this ring true for you? Are you busy whining and complaining about your stinky situation? Are you hosting a pity-party regarding your marriage, work, or finances? Are you constantly dreaming of the day when life will finally cooperate and be what you want it to be?
Zip it. Can it. Shut your pie hole. Dry it up. Suck it up. Quit whining. Stop complaining. Cease the pity party.
Want to be more spiritual? The Bible says to "imitate Christ". Want to be a better parent or spouse? Find someone who is and imitate him. Want to have financial freedom? Find someone who does, for the right reasons, and imitate that person.
It's up to you. Make a decision to take action. Be responsible for your life. Find a person who has already arrived at the destination you are targeting and imitate them.
