Learning Arabic For Children

    View:
One of the easiest ways of learning Arabic vocabulary is to use pictures with the Arabic words written underneath the picture. Now this is not much help if you do not have a grasp of the Arabic alphabet, but once you take beginner lessons in the language, you will start to use very basic vocabulary. By seeing the pictures, you will be able to equate the word with the picture so that you can translate the word into your own language in your mind. You can also use a notebook to create lists of your own based on these pictures which you can review at any time.

In addition to seeing pictures associated with vocabulary in Arabic, you also need to know how to pronounce these words. If you attend an actual class, the instructor will help you with the pronunciation. You can also have this same help when you take an online course in Arabic when you choose a course that has a listening component. In many of these courses, you can click on the picture to hear the word spoken by a native Arabic speaker. This is an essential part of learning the vocabulary of the language because it is not enough just to be able to read the word. You must be able to say the word and understand it when you hear it.

Playing games with vocabulary will also help you learn the words much faster than if you simply memorize them. When you play a game, such as a memory or matching game, you will have fun and learn at the same time. In fact you may not even realize how much you are actually learning until you play the same game again and you know most of the vocabulary words.

Learning through songs is also an enjoyable method of learning vocabulary in Arabic. There is an alphabet song that will help you learn the alphabet as well as short rhymes and songs that children sing. The tunes are catchy, which makes them easy to remember.

You should not try to rush learning the vocabulary. Even the native speakers will tell you that there is an enormous number of words in this language and that even they probably do not know them all. Give yourself lots of time and when you become frustrated, go back and review previously learned material or play a game so that you vary your lesson structure. You should not let trying to learn as much vocabulary as you can consume you because then you will miss out on learning other important concepts. Above all, be prepared to make mistakes and learn from them.

If you have an Arab speaking friend or colleague, this is an excellent opportunity to increase your knowledge of the language. You could try to learn a certain number of words each day and you have an excellent resource at your fingertips to help you with the correct pronunciation. If you do not have this type of resource available to you, watch programs on TV in Arabic and see if you can pick out some of the words that you have learned.
Learning Arabic For Children
"If all countries could speak one language, this world may be a better place." Reality check! Life is not like that and many countries and even their respective states and regions have different languages and dialects to express not just themselves but the cultures and traditions they stem from. Along with languages like French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English, learning Arabic is deemed as one of those languages that are both challenging and exciting.

Truth be told, learning Arabic doesn't need to be the difficult process many students find It to be. Take a look at the following helpful hints to help guide you through your journey to learning the Middle East's oldest and most challenging language - Arabic.

1. When learning Arabic you need to have a lot of patience and dedication. You shouldn't get frustrated if every now and then you make a mistake, learning all the words, phrases, sentences and their enunciations will not be an overnight process, plan to spend many months learning just the basics of this grand and ancient language.

2. Be a risk taker - Words like mastaba, nabob, calabash, halva may not be music to your ears as you struggle to come to terms with the vocabulary for the first time. However, a dedicated and persistent person wishing to learn Arabic should never be afraid to take chances, so speak confidently to other Arabic speakers as much as possible, even if it means sounding stupid and senseless. Feedback from native speakers is the best education you can get. So take chances and everything else will follow.

3. Practice, practice, practice - Learning Arabic entails continuous practice. As the quoted dictum goes: "Practice makes perfect". And to perfect your skill, you should allot a lot of time and effort to sharpen your grasp of the language and reap the benefits of being a multilingual speaker
