If you already have a web site but it doesn't have very many visitors, you must really give a serious thought to it. To stay in the competition, you need to increase your traffic flow and you must do it right now. You must work hard and be ahead of your competitors by getting as much traffic as possible to your web site.



If you don't know the sure-fire methods of generating traffic to your web site, then consider the following 7 points:

1. Advertise in good search engines.

The most popular places to advertise your site are Google Adwords and Yahoo's Overture. Advertising in these two places will ensure a good flow of traffic. However, placing ads here would demand some financial investment on your part. Many may hesitate to spend money on advertisement, but remember it is important that you spend some money on advertising in these places because you will soon realize that the money spent is worth it.

2. Link exchange:

With link exchange, both sites benefit equally. Link exchanges enhance traffic flow without a doubt. The more you exchange links, the more you can expect traffic to increase on your web site.

3. Use Viral Marketing

At little or no cost, viral marketing spreads information about your site and products. You can use your site link as your signature on forums and in all your email. This way your site gets from one person to another very quickly.

4. Use of relevant keywords and key phrases for your site's content

Keywords are important since they are what produce a search engine's result pages.

Good use of keywords helps get a better page ranking for your web site in the search engines. However, don't over stuff your content with keywords, instead maintain about a 7% keyword density. This will attract search engine notice.

5. Articles and press releases

Write articles and press releases and submit them to directories and e-zines. The articles and press releases must contain a link to your site. This will definitely generate traffic to your site. Also give brief details of your site and services at the end of the article or press release.

6. Join forums and form online communities

Try to build a good reputation. Once you do that people will more likely trust your site and also recommend your site to others. This will definitely enhance traffic flow to your site. Make satisfying your customers a top priority. Once they are happy with your products and services, they will keep coming back to you.

7. Distribute newsletters

Start sending newsletters. This is will arouse curiosity and they will definitely visit your site. And if they find what they want, they will recommend your site to friends and relatives.
