Neonatal care is a unit which has been created to take care of sick and pre-mature babies. This is a very important unit in a hospital and one which requires a certain type of nurse to take care of these tiny babies which need such special attention during this time. Babies in this unit may stay just a few days to make sure they are stable enough to be sent home and some babies who are quite sick may stay for months and months before ready to go home with their parents.

Choosing the neonatal care unit for your nursing career is something that takes a lot of decision making in order to consider all the factors. You may love babies but the newborns you will be working with will be more than frail and will need constant care in order to survive, let alone become healthy babies.
