Your body is preparing for your baby's better development. Many hormones are released from your body, one of them is Relaxin. It helps the ligaments and pelvis to be flexible to bring out the baby. This relaxation of ligaments causes more strain on your spinal cord. With the growth of uterus there is a change in your center of gravity. Your spine is more pressured with the increasing weight of your body and stretching of abdominal muscles.
Your lower spine is having now more ligaments to support the additional weight and hence it causes the back pain.

However the relief from the back pain is easy. Some woman may tend to avoid the activities to get relief from the back pain, but the gentle exercise will give more relief. First thing is to observe the good posture. You avoid turning forward, which may strain your muscles in lower back. This causes the back pain.
You should sit in a chair with good support for back. Change of situation after 20-25 minutes is advisable. While sitting you should support your legs and should not cross the legs.
You should take care while sleeping. Sleeping on your back may cause back pain hence you should avoid it and sleep on your side. When you want to lift the object, you should not bend at the waist but you should sit or low down little bit from your knee and then pick up the object. Never lift any heavy objects.
You should not do any sudden movements. Wearing proper footwear will also reduce the back pain. The flat shoes with good support are most suitable. The attire should be loose and you may wear the waistband or belt. You can apply hot water bath treatment which may give relief from back pain.
Some may get relief by alternate hot and ice water use for back. You can get relief by gentle massage of the back. With the advice of doctor you can do specific exercises which may give stretching of spine.
